Academia Navală "Mircea cel Bătrân"

SCIENTIFIC BULLETIN

Aims & Scope

Scientific Bulletin of Naval Academy provides an international forum for engineers from a variety of disciplines with a common interest in the design, production and operation of naval and management sciences.

The attributes of the Scientific Bulletin of Naval Academy are:

  • It straddles the traditional boundaries of naval architecture, marine engineering, offshore/ocean engineering, and coastal engineering;
  • Advances in new techniques involving interdisciplinary topics are encouraged;
  • Focus is on the mechanical and electrical sciences that enable better understanding and utilization of the naval environment.
    • The bulletin addresses the engineering artifact as a system in itself and as a component or facilitator of a larger goal, i.e. the cargo transport chain, the fisheries chain, oil and mineral wealth exploitation chain.

      Topics include:

      • Engineering Sciences: concurrent engineering; fluid dynamics; structural mechanics; martronics; materials-structure and fluid-structure interactions; powering, propulsion and load response; system dynamics; systems engineering; simulation and control
      • Technologies: design methodology; energy technologies; environmental mitigation technology; information technology and production technology;
      • Societal issues: engineering economics; environmental engineering; human factors and ergonomics; management science; risk and safety engineering.
      • Mathematical disciplines: operational research; solid/surface modeling; statistics; variation calculus and numerical modeling.

      The topics are divided into 3 fundamental issues:

      • NAVAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCE
      • MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL SCIENCE
      • FUNDAMENTAL AND COMPLEMENTARY SCIENCE
