1. The use of naval equipment and armament in combat and safe navigation

  • The mission of the study program: The initial training completion, branch specialized training needed for the first position in the military career of the graduates of "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy, Navy Faculty.
  • General objectives
    1. Improving the skills in naval warfare;
    2. Improving the map using skills, in order to complete the training process of the deck officer;
    3. Training and improvement of working skills with information and communication systems/ ICS and with classified documents;
    4. Developing the stamina and forming and improving motor skills and abilities.
  • Specific objectives
    1. Training and development of specific skills, gaining tactical knowledge necessary for the first position;
    2. Training and improvement of skills in organizing, directing and executing the activities of the departments and divisions, according to ship bills;
    3. Formation of skills necessary for the preparation, exploitation, maintenance and use of equipment, and armament on board ships;
    4. Developing the department and division management skills during the training activities on board ships;
    5. Training and improvement of skills for drawing up the documents specific to the departments and divisions and those related to the daily duties;
    6. Training and developing the skills necessary for the management of resources in order to fulfill the daily tasks.
  • Competences
    1. Professional skills
      1. Management and operation of weapons and naval communications systems;
      2. Planning while underway, the safe execution of the watch and the management of the ship, in order to maintain the good seaworthiness of the ship, individually or within a group of ships.
    2. Transversal skills
      1. Responsible execution of professional tasks under limited autonomy and qualified assistance;
      2. Getting acquainted with the roles and activities specific to teamwork and assigning tasks for subordinated levels;
      3. Awareness of the need for continuous training, efficient use of learning resources and technique for personal and professional development.

2. The use in combat of military naval electromechanical systems and logistics

  • The mission of the study program: The initial training completion, branch specialized training needed for the first position in the military career of the graduates of "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy, Navy Faculty.
  • General objectives
    1. Improving the skills in naval warfare;
    2. Improvement of the skills for the safe use of naval electromechanical systems, in order to complete the process of training the electromechanical navy officer;
    3. Improvement of skills in the maintenance of naval electromechanical systems, in order to complete the process of training the electromechanical navy officer;
    4. Training and improvement of working skills with information and communication systems/ ICS and with classified documents;
    5. Development of stamina and formation and improvement of motor skills and abilities.
  • Specific objectives
    1. Training and developing specific skills and acquiring tactical knowledge necessary for the first assignment;
    2. Training and developing skills in organizing, directing and executing the departments and divisions activities, according to ships roles;
    3. Developing the necessary skills for safe management and maintenance of naval electromechanical systems as well as their equivalent on board military vessels;
    4. Developing the management of departments and divisions during training on board ships;
    5. Training and improving skills for drawing up the documents specific to departments and divisions and those related to daily duties;
    6. Training and developing the skills necessary for the management of resources in order to fulfill the daily duties.

      2. Safely operating naval or electromechanical systems or their equivalent.

3. Management of Integrated Naval Weapons Systems

  • The objective of the study program: To improve the professional training in the field of work matching the position and training active majors/ lieutenant-commanders who are not graduates of the military academic studies of joint leadership.
  • General objectives
    1. Developing professional and transversal skills specific to lieutenant-colonels/ commanders;
    2. Developing skills about advising policymakers on operational needs for integrated ship armament systems.
  • Specific objectives
    1. Training capacities to use and manage naval weapon integrated systems during national and international missions.
    2. Specialized harnessing of national and international principles and regulations regarding the management of integrated naval systems, under inter-operability conditions within the EU and NATO allied structures.
    3. Improving the skills of fighter, leader of human resources and military organizations, educator and citizen with true dedication to the nation, respect for the values of democracy and the rule of law.
  • Competences
    1. Professional skills
      1. The acquisition of knowledge regarding the management of naval weapon integrated systems;
      2. Integrated planning and management of basic activities and support processes within the combat command center aboard the military ship;
      3. The development of skills regarding the counseling of decision-making factors, in the management field of expertise of naval weapon integrated systems;
      4. Specialized harnessing of national and international principles and regulations regarding the management of integrated naval systems, under inter-operability conditions within the EU and NATO allied structures.
    2. Transversal skills
      1. The development of interpersonal communication techniques within a multicultural team (possibly interethnic), on various hierarchical levels, of oral and written communication, of effective collaboration with specialists from multiple fields;
      2. Applying, in a responsible manner, the principles, norms and values of professional ethical values in the accomplishment of the professional tasks and identifying the targeted objectives, the available resources, the work stages, the time limit for completion, the corresponding deadlines and their risks;
      3. Identifying continuous professional development opportunities and efficient use, for military career development, for information sources and communication resources and assisted professional training, both in Romanian and in an international language, in accordance with interoperability NATO standards;
      4. The objective self-assessment of the need for continuous professional development from a professional, cultural, mental and physical point of view.

4. The management of the logistics military systems

  • The mission of the study program: Perfecting the professional training in the field of activity correspondent to the position, of the active officers with the rank of major/ lieutenant-commander who are not graduates of higher education military studies of joint leadership.
  • General objectives
    1. The development of professional and transversal skills specific to officers with the rank of lieutenant-colonel/ commander;
    2. The development of skills regarding counseling of decision-making factors at technical-economic and administrative level, in the field of expertise in the management of military logistics systems;
  • Specific objectives
    1. The acquisition of knowledge regarding the technical-economic management of the military logistics processes of acquiring, supplying and the managing of stocks;
    2. Integrated planning and management of basic activities and support processes within military logistics framework, in accordance with NATO standards;
    3. The specialized harness of national and international principles and regulations regarding the management of military logistics systems, under inter-operability conditions at the level of EU and NATO allied structures.
  • Competences
    1. Professional skills
      1. The elaboration and interpretation of technical-economic and managerial documentation in the logistics field, at the level of units and large units of the Naval Forces;
      2. Designing, planning, coordinating and managing the technical-economic and military logistics processes and systems, at the tactical and operative level, in the units and large units of the Naval Forces;
      3. Solving the technical-economic problems in the field of military logistics, under inter-operability conditions at the level of EU and NATO allied structures.
      4. The development of skills regarding the counseling of decision-making factors at technical-economic and administrative level, in the field of expertise in the management of military logistics systems;
      5. Integrated coordination of basic activities and support activities within the logistic framework at the level of the units and large units of the Naval Forces.
    2. Transversal skills
      1. Identifying the roles and responsibilities in an interdisciplinary team and applying the techniques specific to the military leadership skill for completing a work or a project, as a team-leader and assigning specific tasks to the subordinates for the accomplishment of the mission, adopting a positive and respectful attitude towards colleagues;
      2. Applying, in a responsible manner, the principles, norms and values of professional ethics in carrying out professional tasks and identifying the targeted objectives, the available resources, the work stages, the time limit for completion, the corresponding deadlines and their risks;
      3. Identifying continuous professional development opportunities and efficient use, for military career development, for information sources and communication resources and assisted professional training, both in Romanian and in an international language, in accordance with interoperability NATO standards;


Starting with 2018-2019 academic year, within the Naval Academy, the following 8 weeks long postgraduate courses have been organized for promoting to the rank of Commander/ Lieutenant Colonel:

  • The Management of Integrated Systems of Naval Armament;
  • The Management of Military Logistics Systems.
