Training Ship ‘Mircea’ – is THE CREW, with a hand for him and another one for the ship
During various historical stages, the Romanian maritime school knew a continuous development, fully answering to his fundamental task: forming of well trained staff, so necessary to the military and civil fleet. It is widely known the fact that life on sea is not easy or simple, that the sailor has to be first of all a real man and the vessel’s crew has to form a real family. And where else it can better be formed such a family than onboard Sailing-ship "Mircea", where there are only colleagues and friends, there where discipline and responsibility represent an essential condition of all carried on events. Training-ship "Mircea" and sail navigation are the ones that completely fulfill the behavioral profile of the sailor, characterized by high professionalism, altruism, courage and devotion. Training Objectives:
- Learning the vessel’s rig;
- Knowing and using the deck’s installations and the sailing equipment;
- Learning different sailing landmarks and offshore;
- Measuring and construing hydrometeorology data;
- Handling sails;
- Accomplishment of practical works and seamanship;
- Conducting rowing boats;
- Learning means of signal and recognizing code signals;
- Acquiring skills of exploiting and maintaining main and booster engines, of electric wirings etc.
