Between 1933 and 1958, the Naval Shipyard "Blohm und Woss" from Hamburg, Germany built 5 gorgeous sailing-ships, unique worldwide through their elegance and their performances, with which apart from Germany, other countries like Romania, Portugal and the United States are also proud to possess.

       After the capital repairing and upgrading in 1966, at the same Naval Shipyard where she was built and between 1994-2002, at the Naval Shipyard Braila, ‘Mircea’ became the most upgraded of her sisters ("Eagle" (e.g. Horst Wessel) - United States, "Gorch Foch I" ((e.g. Tovarisch, e.g. Gorch Foch –ship museum) - Germany, "Gorch Foch II" - Germany, "Sagres" (e.g. Albert Leo Schlageter) - Portugal).
