  • Laboratory of hydroacoustics and vibration
    Destination:
    The laboratory is used for the teaching / learning / research process of hydroacoustics and vibrations applied in the maritime field.
    Facilities:The laboratory consists of:
    • 13 computers having installed the following software: Ansys: Workbench, Mechanical APDL (25 licenses + 1 research license); SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Floworks (20 licenses + 1 research license); Matlab (10 licenses);
    • Bruel & Kjaer equipment
      • Mobile equipment for vibration determination:
        • PULSE. Machine Diagnostics Toolbox Type 9727
        • DeltaTron 4506 accelerometers;
        • 752A 12x accelerometers;

  • Chemistry laboratory
    Destination:
    The laboratory is used for the teaching/learning/research process of the applied chemistry.
    Facilities:The laboratory consists of:
    • Automatic micropipette with variable-volume 100-1000 μl, suitable for research field
    • Universal centrifuge Z306 - Hermle,
    • Electrothermal Thermostatic Blast Drying Oven used in industrial & mineral enterprises, laboratories and scientific research units for drying, baking, wax melting and disinfection. Temperature Control Range (oC): RT+10oC ~ 300oC; Temperature fluctuation: ±1oC. Temperature uniformity: ±2.5oC%.

    • Handheld WATER QUALITY METTER IP67 COMBO/ MODEL8603 - a portable device that measure the value of pH, conductivity, salinity and D.O. (Dissolved Oxygen) with automatic compensation of temperature in liquid (fresh and sea water), which had been widely used by Aquaculture, Aquaponics or Fish Farm.
    • Handheld AQUA - CHECK 2- a portable photometer to determine concentration of substances in water.
    • SEITRON Chemist 504 S (O2, CO+H2, NO, SO2) - mobile combustion gas analyzer for all condensing boilers and biomass boilers.
    • LT handheld VOC detector - a portable device that can detect gases from 0.1 to 5,000 ppm with a response time of just two seconds.

  • Oceanography laboratory
    Destination:
    The laboratory is used for oceanographic research and practical activities of students from undergraduate and master's degree programs.
    Facilities:The laboratory consists of:
    • Current meters with integrated sensors for measuring: flow rate, direction, depth and temperature of currents in the coastal marine environment. GPS global positioning system;
    • Radar data system, satellite data, data from sea forecast models through the VAGROM module, national and GTS weather data through the National Integrated Meteorological System (SIMIN)
    • Instruments and apparatus for measuring and recording the main oceanographic parameters: Refractometer for salinity, Portable laboratory turbidimeter, Microscope for ballast water species analysis, Sechi disk, Forel colorimetric kit, etc .;
    • Specialized software products used to correlate sea calculations, real-time oceanographic forecasting and optimization of navigation routes;
    • Wave simulation system within the navigation simulator
    • Pilot books, current atlases, ATTs, documentation on types of information received on board ships in real time (notices, warnings, synoptic maps with wave modeling and blasphemy systems, etc.)
    • Collections of formalized species (Crustaceans, fish,) specific to different marine cosystems for the study of biological oceanography

  • Marine hydrography laboratory
    Destination:
    The laboratory is used for marine hydrography research and practical activities of students in master's degree programs.
    Facilities:The laboratory consists of:
    • 2 fast boats for the supervision and provision of support activities (arranged at the Marine Training and Water Sports Section Palazu Mare) and a hydrographic research boat (provided by the Maritime Hydrographic Directorate);
    • KONSGBERG EA 400 single-beam hydrographic research system - in collaboration with the Maritime Hydrographic Directorate
    • Specialized software products for processing information obtained from hydrographic surveys and training of students - in collaboration with the Maritime Hydrographic Directorate (HYPACK specialized software);
    • VSP multisensor system designed to measure the profile of the underwater acoustic wave in collaboration with the Maritime Hydrographic Directorate;
    • ROV for underwater inspections and hydrographic works.

  • Marine meteorology laboratory
    Destination:
    The laboratory is used for research in the field of marine meteorology and the practical activities of students in undergraduate and master's degree programs.
    Facilities:The laboratory consists of:
    • Automatic weather station type "VUE Advantages" designed to measure meteorological parameters, storage and processing in order to develop meteograms and short-term forecast on board ships.
    • Radar data system, satellite data, data from forecast models as well as national and GTS weather data through the National Integrated Meteorological System (SIMIN) and meteorological station data from DHM (Maritime Hydrographic Directorate) by hourly transmission of SYNOP analysis reports;
    • Instruments and apparatus for measuring and recording the main meteorological parameters with a role in forecasting and monitoring the conditions of storage of goods: barometers, barographs, hygrometers, hygrographs, thermohygrographs, electronic anemometers, thermometers, thermographs, rain gauges;
    • Equipment for receiving meteorological information on board the ship through the NAVTEX system within the navigation simulator (receiver, antenna), respectively through real-time internet through specialized sites (http://weather.gmdss.org);
    • Simulation system of the main groups of clouds and types of precipitation within the navigation simulator
    • Specialized software products used on board ships by navigation companies to correlate the weather forecast in real time and optimize navigation routes (SPOS Programs, NaviPlanner_BVS_8.4.0.2;)

  • Applied Mechanical Engineering Laboratory
    Destination:
    The laboratory is used for the teaching/learning/research process of the applied mechanical engineering.
    Facilities:The laboratory consists of follows experimental installations for:

  • Theory and Naval Arhitecture Laboratory
    Destination:
    The numerical laboratory for Theory and Naval Architecture is used for the teaching/learning/research process of the following disciplines: Theory and Naval Architecture, Ship Theory, Complements of ship dynamics, CAD/CAE methods for initial ship design. Management of ship stability, trim and structural load. This laboratory addresses second and third year undergraduate students as well as first and second master degree students.
    Facilities:The laboratory consists of :
    • 20 computers in a network system on which there are installed the following software: Autoship, Fluent, Ansys, Matematica, Solidworks.
    • Other teaching materials include: video-projector and screen, a smartboard,a magnetic board.

  • PISCES II Simulator
    Destination:
    PISCES is a response simulator intended for preparing and conducting command centre exercises and area drills in oil spill response. The PISCES is oriented to the accomplishment of tasks required by the Oil Pollution Act 1990 (OPA 90) to provide improved training for spill response managers.
    Facilities:
    The PISCES provides the exercise participants with an interactive information environment based on the mathematical modeling of an oil spill interacting with surroundings and combat facilities. The system also includes information-collecting facilities to enable the assessment of the participants' performance.
