MARS-NET Transnational Meeting


Between 22.03-23.03.2022, the Romanian Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" organized the Transnational Meeting of the MARS-NET project - "Maritime Simulators and Training Facilities Network for Enhancing the Exchange of Good Practices and Digital Learning", funded under the Erasmus + program, strategic partnerships, the key action KA220-VET - Cooperation partnerships in VET, project no. 2021-1-RO01-KA220-VET-000029412. The project is coordinated by the Romanian Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" and is implemented in partnership with the Polish Naval Academy, the Bulgarian Naval Academy, the Lithuanian Maritime Academy and the Piri Reis University in Turkey, from February 2022 to January 2024.

The main objective of the project is developing an international network of best practices in the field of simulation training in marine education. The planned actions aim at a distinct didactic component, covered by curricular harmonization and the creation of digitized simulator training courses between partners, as well as the conduct of specific research activities, designed to enhance the simulation environment in scientific research in the maritime field. During the transnational meeting, the representatives of the partners involved in the project participated in discussions on the organization and planning of activities within the project implementation framework and had the opportunity to visit the modern material base of the Romanian Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran". Through its diverse portfolio of initiated international projects, the RNA marks the 150th anniversary of naval education, promoting at the anniversary hour a consistent institutional value with significant visibility in the European space.
