Hosting the "The Challenges of Securing Maritime Areas for the European Union" course at Romanian Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran"


Between May 25 and 28, the Romanian Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" hosted, as a partner of the event, the course "The Challenges of Securing Maritime Areas for the European Union", organized by the European Security and Defense College (ESDC), in partnership with the National College of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Mihai Panait. Invited lecturers from the European Security and Defense College (ESDC), EU Military Staff, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Coast Guard, Romanian Naval Forces and the National College of Internal Affairs, together with specialists and representatives of local public authorities and from the Romanian Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran", discussed issues related to the challenges in the European Union in the field of maritime security, in a multidimensional and integrated approach, at a strategic and operational level.

On Thursday, May 27, an exercise at sea was organized, with the aim of simulating actions to combat migration at sea.

By organizing this course, the Romanian Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" remains anchored in the efforts of the European Security and Defense College on the implementation of training and academic training modules in the maritime field at EU level.
