Participation to the 22nd edition of the European Naval Academies' Superintendents Conference


Between May 18-19, 2021, a delegation of the Romanian Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran", formed by Capt. Alecu TOMA, Rector of the Academy, and Col. C?t?lin POPA, vice-rector for programs and international relations, participated to the 22nd edition of the European Naval Academies' Superintendents Conference, hosted online, in the context of the pandemic evolution, by Britannia Royal Naval College. On this occasion, the commanders of 21 naval academies in Europe and the United States had the opportunity to address current issues regarding the management of naval educational institutions, particularly during the management of the COVID pandemic. The commanders of the naval academies participated in distinct sessions dedicated to the current didactic and training aspects, respectively to the problems related to the training of the students on sea, being particularly debated the curricular aspects regarding critical thinking and ethics in military leadership. The conclusions led to the formulation of common points of view, supporting the harmonized development and broadening the framework of international cooperation at the level of the network of naval academies by organizing joint internships, exchanges of lecturers and students and organizing jointly training modules.
