Workshop within the MENTORESS project
"Maritime Education Network to Orient and Retain Women for Efficient Seagoing Services"
at the Naval Academy


Starting with September 2017, the Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" participated in the partner institution in the implementation of the MENTORESS project "Maritime Education Network to Orient and Retain Women for Efficient Seagoing Services", no. 2017-1-TR01-KA203-045739, together with PiriReis University in Istanbul (Turkey), Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy (Bulgaria) and the Naval Academy of Poland, developed within the Erasmus + program, strategic partnerships KA2. The main objective of the project is to facilitate the access of female personnel on board civilian and military ships and has recorded outstanding results both in terms of scientific research in the field of diversity management and in terms of teaching, being developing an interdisciplinary material, harmonized internationally, for the training of Navigant personnel in gender issues on board seagoing ships.          Thus, after a series of events organized in the partner states (Poland, Turkey and Bulgaria), between 14.05-18.05.2019, at the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy, Constanta, a series of events took place in the project implementation calendar METORESS, as follows:          - 4th transnational meeting on project management;          - the dissemination and information workshop for students and teachers from ANMB (15.05);          - the dissemination event of the MENTORESS project within the SEA-CONF international conference held in ANMB (17.05-18.05);          - workshop on "Integration of Women in Maritime Professions" - E4 (17.05).          The activities were planned and executed in accordance with the implementation schedule of the MENTORESS project, the dissemination events contributing to the increase of the visibility of ANMB within the academic community at regional and international level.
