Training module "The Challenges to Securing Maritime Areas for the European Union", organization under the auspices of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC) at the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy


The Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" hosted between 21 and 24 May the course "The Challenges of Securing Maritime Areas for the European Union", organized by the European Security and Defense College (ESDC), in partnership with the National College of Internal Affairs and the Ministry Home Affairs. For four days, guest lecturers from the European Security and Defense College (ESDC), EU Military Staff, Coast Guard, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Romanian Naval Forces and the National College of Internal Affairs, along with specialists and representatives of public authorities and "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy, debated issues related to the challenges in the field of maritime security at the level of the European Union, in a multidimensional and integrated approach, at strategic and operational level. On Thursday, May 23, during the course, an exercise was organized at sea, with the objective of simulating the way of action in the specific operations to combat migration at sea. This course was attended by 40 students, from the country and abroad, who had an initial training in one online training module. The activity is part of the actions planned at national level for the promotion of the Romanian presidency at the Council of the European Union.
