The challenges at the level of the European Union in the field of maritime security, debated at the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy


The Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" hosted between 21 and 24 May the "Challenges of securing maritime areas for the European Union" course, organized by the European College of Security and Defense (ESDC), in partnership with the National College of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
         For four days, guests from the European Security and Defense College (ESDC), EU military personnel, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Coast Guard, the Romanian Naval Forces and the National College of Internal Affairs, together with specialists and representatives of the public authorities and the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy will discuss issues related to the challenges at European Union level in the field of maritime security, in a multidimensional and integrated approach, at strategic and operational level. On Thursday, 23.05.2019, along the way, an exercise was organized at sea, with the aim of simulating the mode of action within the specific operations to combat migration at sea. This course was attended by 40 students, from the country and abroad, who had an initial training in an online training module.
         By organizing this course, the Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" joined the stages of the European Security and Defense College in terms of implementing modules of training and academic training in the maritime field at EU level.
