"MIRCEA CEL BATRAN" Naval Academy takes over the presidency of the European Union and NATO Naval Academies’ Superintendents Forum

For the first time, the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy had hosted during May 29th to June 1st, the 21st Naval Academy Superintendents Conference in Europe and NATO. Launched 42 years ago, in 1976, the Naval Academy Superintendents’ Conference is the largest forum for Navy military education representatives, aiming to harmonize the training objectives and methods of the future naval officers from the European Union and NATO, in a consistent adaptation to the geostrategic dynamics. The "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy has joined this prestigious organization in 2008, managing to host the 2018 edition conference, in the year of the Great Union Centenary. At the same time, the Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran" took over the presidency of the naval educational forum for the next two years, from the United States Naval Academy, who had hosted the 2016 edition. On this accession, participants from the 20 states of the European Union and NATO with maritime interests had addressed topics from three core areas of the maritime education and training - university education, training and military leadership – as included in the conference agenda, outlined in the Education Management and Naval Training session. The three roundtables as organized, allowed the Naval Academies’ Superintendents to present their national perspective and to draw common proposals for increasing the efficiency of the education and training processes of the European Allies and NATO members in the Maritime field. As hosting institution, the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy had the opportunity to proudly present its high-quality level of the study programs, as well as its updated educational infrastructure, in regard of the Romanian Naval Forces developed programs, all the European and NATO partners.
