ESDC strategic course on maritime security at the Black Sea, organized at Naval Academy "Mircea cel Batran", 02.10-06.10.2017

          Between 02.10-06.10, the "Mircea cel Batran" Naval Academy had hosted as co-organizer, the course of "Challenges of Securing Maritime Areas for the European Union" organized by the European Security and Defense College, in partnership with the Estudios Superior Centro (CESEDEN), the National Defense College and the National College of Internal Affairs, with the support of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police and the "Nikola Vaptsarov" (Bulgaria) Naval Academy. 39 participants from 9 countries participated in this module of strategic training in the field of maritime security, benefiting from lectures and training sessions led by invited lecturers, specialists and experts from different structures or institutions of the European Union, CESEDEN, SATCEN, IGPF, PGI, MFA or MoD. In addition to the major focused on the European Security and Defense Policy (CSDP), an exercise at sea had been carried out, with the General Border Police Inspectorate support, alongside which were presented the capabilities for monitoring and the local procedures related to the crisis on illegal migration to the Black Sea. The high level of the course had been supported by the expertise and notoriety of the invited moderators / lecturers, the students having direct meetings with specialists involved at political and strategic level in the elaboration of the European security and defense policies, the regional relevancy of the seminar being confirmed by the presence of Mr. Dirk Dubois, the acting Director of the European Security and Defense College.
